Overview
The ECG-DIY-Kit is a battery-powered device that can record an ECG on the fingers of the left and right hand. The kit is assembled by the user. It is made up of different components:
1.Electrode PCB
The main part of the kit is the Electrode PCB with Ag/AgCl electrodes (green and red) for the index finger of each hand and an quad Op Amp IC (MCP6004).
2.ADC
The measured potential difference of the fingers is digitized by a 16-Bit differential ADC (AD1115) with 200 Hz sampling frequency.
3.Microcontroller
The Wifi-enabled microcontroller (Heltec Wifi Kit 8) controls the measurement process and transmits the data wirelessly to the Raspberry Pi. It shows also status messages on a small display.
4.Battery
The DIY-ECG-Kit is powered by a 3.7V lithium battery. This makes the device electrically independent and therefore mobile and resistant to interference.
5.Baseplate
All components are assembled on an aluminium baseplate, which is not only the mechanical backbone of the device but also the electrical reference which is driven by the Electrode PCB. The middle finger of each hand should also rest on the baseplate.
